Stiernhööksgymnasiet is beautifully located by the shores of Lake Siljan and is a high school with about 500 students. It is a unique high school with proud traditions and a student body from all over Sweden. The school has a documented high level of goal achievement with very good educational quality. The school offers programs such as the construction and civil engineering program, the economics program, the electrical and energy program, the natural resources program (with specializations in animal care, equestrian studies, and agriculture), the natural sciences program, the social sciences program, as well as four introductory programs. The school also has adapted national programs for agriculture, forestry, and animal care, as well as real estate, construction, and civil engineering. Additionally, the school offers national sports education (NIU) in equestrian sports and bandy, as well as local sports education (LIU) in various sports. There is a student dormitory with over 130 accommodation places, as well as food production within the framework of agricultural education. Parts of the production are served in the municipality's kitchens. Thus, Rättvik has Sweden's most locally produced school meals.

Job Description

As an instructor at Stiernhööksgymnasiet's barn, you are part of a team that works with the care of agricultural animals (dairy cows, pigs, and sheep) and the facility, as well as other tasks on the farm.

The instructor group works closely with teaching staff and also acts as educational personnel in training students. As an instructor, you primarily train students in the practical aspects included in the education, such as barn tours and various practice sessions.

The position is a seasonal job, with evenings and weekends included as it follows a 38:15 hour weekly schedule. On-call duty from 19:00 to 07:00 is included in a rotating schedule with weekdays and weekends. The position is a temporary contract until 2026-10-11, with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant education in agriculture with animal care. You should have professional experience in milk production. It is a merit if you also have experience in sheep and pig production. We prefer that you are knowledgeable in repairing and maintaining the equipment, both mechanical and computer-controlled, found in a modern barn. If you have previously worked in education or otherwise worked with youth, that is also a merit.

You should be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. As a person, we want you to be proactive, responsible, and have good collaboration skills. You are practically oriented and have a knack for solving problems as they arise. You work purposefully and have a pedagogical and safety-oriented approach.
